“Tuxedo Bouquets” has returned home with some “bling” on it!
This original design was made by Jo Timko of Mollykat Designs and custom quilted by myself. Sadly, Jo passed away in April of 2017 – but her beautiful quilt lives on and I will be entering it at many shows so the public can see what a great team we were!
So far, this wall hanging has won:

I started my longarming service in the fall of 2009. I charged 1.5 cents per sq. in. for a basic pantograph. It has been 7 years and because the cost of thread has risen (again), I will need to raise my rates. On January 1st, all pantographs will start at 2 cents per sq. in. Pantographs that are very labor intensive and thread heavy will start at 3 cents per sq. in.
Please keep in mind that most longarmers charge a thread fee – however, I never have.

Hello Friends!
Starting June 1st, I am back to work after a long recovery from lower back surgery. Thanks so much for all the prayers and well-wishes! My doctor said the procedure went perfectly and I should make a full recovery. I’ve completed physical therapy and have been cleared to run my longarm again.
I just mailed this off to AQS for the Grand Rapids show.
“Pheasant Bouquet” is a 105″ square applique and pieced quilt. The applique has a turned edge and is sewn down by machine. It features a large center medallion with 12 applique blocks and 12 pieced blocks. It has over 50 hours of custom/heirloom quilting.
This quilt is for sale – serious inquiries only please.
It has won 1st place in it’s category at the Oakland County Quilt Guild quilt show. It also won Viewer’s Choice at the same show.
Any sale of this quilt will happen after the AQS show in August. Thanks.

We are so grateful to Ruth that she has decided to donate it back to the Depot to reside in the museum! The Historical Society and the residents of Dryden are very appreciative!
92″ square Made by Mary Batzer and Lisa Burmann. Custom Quilted and thread painted by Lisa and donated for the raffle. Train embroideries were purchased by JED Creations from Hadley, Mi.
Down at the Depot is the 4th quilt inspired by the people and places of Dryden Township. The previous quilts have honored our farm, Bishop’s Glen. General Squier and General Squier Park and Seven Ponds Nature Center.
A few years ago I got a call from Patsy Thompson. Yes, that Patsy Thompson! She was designing die cutters for Sizzix and had some tops that needed to be quilted for an event and was in a pinch. She mailed this to me and I quilted it using 2 layers of wool!
Because I have a handguided machine, I had to mark the top with blue Clover washaway markers. When Patsy soaked the top to wash that out as well as block the top – her blue feathers ran into the white. Why? Because she didn’t prewash her Batiks! She did manage to get the blue out and this quilt has been a great sample in her booth at different markets.
I was thrilled to quilt it and consider it a “feather” in my cap!
