Updating the site – Finally! LOL

I know it’s been a while – but life gets busy, right?!!

I’ve cleaned up the site, removed some unnecessary pages and still need to update my workshop offerings – but it’s underway.

I am going to add the link here for my Red House Designs Etsy page where you can find digital download patterns: http://www.etsy.com/shop/RedHouseDesignsInc

MQX Midwest Results

“Tuxedo Bouquets” has returned home with some “bling” on it!

This original design was made by Jo Timko of Mollykat Designs and custom quilted by myself.   Sadly, Jo passed away in April of 2017 – but her beautiful quilt lives on and I will be entering it at many shows so the public can see what a great team we were!

So far, this wall hanging has won:

“Best of New Jersey” at the Mancuso quilt show

“1st Place for Computerized Quilting” at MQX Midwest

I do offer custom quilting services – let’s talk about how to quilt your show quilt!

Getting Ready for 2017!

I started my longarming service in the fall of 2009. I charged 1.5 cents per sq. in. for a basic pantograph. It has been 7 years and because the cost of thread has risen (again), I will need to raise my rates. On January 1st, all pantographs will start at 2 cents per sq. in. Pantographs that are very labor intensive and thread heavy will start at 3 cents per sq. in.
Please keep in mind that most longarmers charge a thread fee – however, I never have.
I look forward to seeing all your new, gorgeous tops in 2017!!

Back to Work!

Hello Friends!

Starting June 1st, I am back to work after a long recovery from lower back surgery.  Thanks so much for all the prayers and well-wishes!  My doctor said the procedure went perfectly and I should make a full recovery.  I’ve completed physical therapy and have been cleared to run my longarm again.

I’ve ordered some new pantographs and have attached some pictures to this email.  The quilting fee for all of them will be 1.5 cents per sq. in. and range from traditional, to whimsical and modern.
I look forward to hearing from you and I hope you have a wonderful summer!

Quilting for a National Quilt Teacher

A few years ago I got a call from Patsy Thompson. Yes, that Patsy Thompson! She was designing die cutters for Sizzix and had some tops that needed to be quilted for an event and was in a pinch. She mailed this to me and I quilted it using 2 layers of wool!
Because I have a handguided machine, I had to mark the top with blue Clover washaway markers. When Patsy soaked the top to wash that out as well as block the top – her blue feathers ran into the white. Why? Because she didn’t prewash her Batiks! She did manage to get the blue out and this quilt has been a great sample in her booth at different markets.
I was thrilled to quilt it and consider it a “feather” in my cap!
